Vegetable oils are used especially for rolling metals used in the food industry. Unlike mineral oil-based rolling oils, these oils contain both polar and non-polar components.

Unsuitable roller coatings exhibit rapid, violent swelling of the volume with simultaneous loss of hardness and mechanical properties.

Problems in brief:

  • Severe and possibly uneven swelling
  • Elastomer coating becomes soft
  • Uneven contact in nip or wrap
  • Disproportionate wear of the coating

Mitex solutions:

M367.90: Good resistance to polar and non-polar oils, high temperature resistance
M096.90: Good resistance to polar and non-polar oils, optimised mechanical properties
