In the gravure printing unit, ink mist is created due to the high speed of the forming cylinder. This very fine ink mist is deposited on all surfaces where the rotating press surface is particularly critical. This can lead to poor printing, poor web guidance, changes to the electrical parameters, edge swelling and ghost printing.
Problems in brief:
- Depositing of ink mist and/or paper dust on the impression roll surface
RBU coatings – reduce ink and paper dust build-up without affecting the transport properties of the surfaces and extend the print intervals between cleaning cycles.
